These homes will change the way you think about kitchen storage

No room, no worries.  These pictures are sure to inspire better than ever kitchen storage ideas.

For a small home with not enough room for both kitchen and cellar, an inbuilt wine rack at the end of a floating island can solve all of your problems.  Add in some purpose built shelves for baskets as shown for a tucked away storage solution for those inevitable bits and bobs you don't want on display.

The interiors of this Northern Californian home reflect the subtle beauty of it's natural surrounds.

A Californian couple with three children enlisted designer James Huniford to create their dream home in Marin County, in a beautiful setting facing Mount Tamalpais.

Their vision was for their home to be subtly nestled within it's natural environment -- surrounded by 125 foot tall redwood trees.

The home was built in Craftsman Shingle-style, inspired by early 20th century California architecture.

The family wanted a casual yet elegant interior where they could entertain family and friends.  Huniford helped them to create a look that is sophisticated yet unassuming.

Another key aspect was to create a fluidness between indoors and the outdoors, in order to make the most of the surrounding scenery and year-round mild weather.

The home started with a neutral palette, blending different period furniture from 1860s-1940s with colour introduced with some key furniture and textiles.

Fittings and fixtures were designed to feature natural elements such as reclaimed wood.

Rooms are artful and comfortable with a kind of relaxed elegance.

The Dining Room features a table and bench from Oxford which designer James Huniford loves.
